ICT Analyst Specialist / Technical Engineer with Visa Sponsorship (COS) at King’s College Hospital NHS Trust – This is an exciting opportunity to become a member of the ICT Infrastructure Hardware Team in the role of Band 6 Senior Engineer-Hardware. You will be responsible for the day to day running of the Trust’s server, storage and backup infrastructure. Supporting the End User experience team and assisting the Advanced Technical Engineers and Infrastructure Hardware Team Leader when required.

To ensure the smooth operation of the trust SharePoint, Server, Storage, and backup infrastructure.
Responsible for daily housekeeping tasks including but not limited to:
· Maintenance of systems and environments together with testing.
· Maintenance of backup environment and its testing.
· Maintenance of the Trusts SharePoint Installation.
· Monitoring server systems for any anomalies/faults/ Update of critical/security patches and virus definitions.
· Responsible to identify and escalate to the Server Team Leader on any ICT risks. Initiate risk assessment, develop and implement solution where necessary in accordance with the change control process.

1. Maintain Server, Storage and Virtual Infrastructure, Data Centre and Server Rooms.
2. Ensuring systems are secure, resilient, and comply with ICT standards and procedures.
3. Assist with the security of the ICT infrastructure, ensuring that all servers are maintained with the latest approved versions, critical/security patches and are monitored/reviewed for any anomalies/faults.
4. To Assist with SharePoint related issues when requested by Senior members.
5. Assist the ICT Consultant/Server Manager for Data Centre (DC) and server capacity planning, usage monitoring and reporting.
6. Assist with ICT Server, Storage and Virtual infrastructure security.
7. Assist with configuration, Security, upgrades and performance of ICT Server, Storage and Virtual Servers.
8. Organise and report faulty equipment to maintenance companies.
9. Ensure server diagrams, inventories and associated spreadsheet and databases/documents are kept up to date.
10. Perform regular server audits and surveys. Analysis and recommendations for upgrades.
11. Provide 3rd line support for the ICT Server, Storage and Virtual infrastructure and taking ownership of issues through to resolution and meeting specified SLA’s.
12. Carry out prompt escalation of possible faults or problems to ICT Consultant/Server Manager or other appropriate ICT management.
The successful candidate will be required to travel to the variety of King’s sites in this cross-site role and take part (if required) in the out of hours ICT Server team on-call team to cover service affecting issues outside the standard 8-6 working hours and 24/7 at weekends.
The Job has a degree of manual handling as the successful candidate will be required to rack and stack server and storage hardware and decommission servers and un-rack them for disposal.
