Data and Reporting Manager Job at Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Trust – We are seeking an experienced data analyst with an excellent understanding of mathematics and statistics to join our team delivering transformation at pace across Moorfields. The ideal candidate will have a degree in a numerate discipline or equivalent experience, exceptional communication skills, and the passion and drive to work autonomously under pressure to many different stakeholders.
You will be an advanced user of T-SQL and Excel, ideally also with advanced knowledge of R or Python, and demonstrable experience in building and applying complex models to solve real-world problems. Experience working in the NHS is not essential, but you must be able to show how you have used quantitative analysis to inform decision making in similar complex high-risk settings.
You should be equally comfortable immersing yourself in code as you are explaining complex concepts to non-technical audiences as you will be working with project managers and service leads to design, test, and present multiple hypothetical scenarios to meet different service needs. You will need to clearly articulate the assumptions, risks, and benefits of each option, enabling stakeholders to make informed choices that optimise patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
This is a rare opportunity to contribute bespoke analysis and modelling expertise to one of the most ambitious transformation portfolios in the NHS, providing insight and guidance to support service redesign at scale and pace.
Our office is based at Old Street, London and we offer flexible hybrid working, expected 1-2 days a week on site. You will also have access to training and development opportunities, including SQL coding, , data analysis, project management and improvement methodologies.
Please read and follow these instructions carefully, because they will determine whether you are longlisted and/or shortlisted. In the Supporting Information section of your application, please ensure that you clearly answer only these four questions:
1. Why are you applying for this post? [max 100 words]
2. Please give a maximum of two examples from your experience that show how you meet the requirements of this role. At least one example must involve your experience developing complex models to support real-world decision making [max 700 words]
3. If you have used AI in your application, please describe how [max 50 words]
4. Our Trust values are excellence, equity, and kindness. Tell us about a situation where you demonstrated one of these values in practice [max 100 words]
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete Stage 1, an online task scheduled for 12–14 November. Successful candidates will then be invited to attend Stage 2 interviews, expected to take place in person on Tuesday 25th November.
Due to the nature of this position, employment is subject to proof of eligibility to work in the UK, completion of a satisfactory DBS disclosure and two references. We do not offer visa sponsorship for roles unless clearly stated in our adverts, so please consider this before applying.
