Trainee CBT High Intensity Therapist Job with Visa Sponsorship

Trainee CBT High Intensity Therapist job at Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust with Sponsorship – An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit dedicated, enthusiastic and innovative individuals to join an evolving team working as a Trainee CBT therapist within the East Riding Talking Therapy Service.

We are an Accredited Service with an excellent reputation and an impressive record of meeting the required Talking Therapy National and Local standards.

We are a Lead Provider of Talking Therapy services in the East Riding and work closely with our partner providers.

This role is fixed term for 12 months, with potential to being promoted to a qualified High Intensity Therapist position on a permanent contract (subject to successful completion of the course and service needs).

This post will be subject to successful completion of a 6 month probationary period where applicable, further details would be included within any offer letter.

Where operationally feasible the Trust supports agile working, there is an expectation of attendance of 1 day per week at a Trust site as a minimum operationally.  Unless specifically stated in the advert that a role will have home as the base of work, all roles will have the option to work from a Trust base if remote working is not for you.

If required for the post the ability to commute within the Trusts geographical area with access to the appropriate means of transport would be essential.

On 1 July 2024, NHS England strengthened its commitment to supporting employees already working for the NHS who wish to embark upon an apprenticeship to aide career development.

To ensure these staff do not experience a detriment to their basic pay, the salary for duration of the apprenticeship will be consistent with their current pay or the rate paid to other apprentices, whichever is higher (subject to eligibility criteria)

This change supports exiting NHS employees to undertake a formal apprenticeship programme which, upon completion, would qualify them for a role where the evaluated pay band is the same or higher than the band of their current post.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Full understanding of relevant policy, legislation, drivers and their application to clinical and service area, e.g. Mental Capacity Act, Social Inclusion, Child Protection
  • Full understanding/application of relevant clinical practice/standards/audit within identified clinical area
  • Ability to evaluate and put in place the effect of training
  • Demonstrate specialist understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in Primary care
  • Demonstrate specialist knowledge of the issues surrounding work and the impact it can have on mental health
  • Knowledge of medication used in anxiety and depression and other common mental health problems
  • Basic IT skills
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of project work that has impacted on practice and demonstrates a higher level of communication/planning/change that impacts within own area of work/responsibility

Skills and Competencies

Essential criteria
  • Effective inter-personal skills and experience in mentoring
  • Able to demonstrate effective communication skills
  • Ability to work positively within a team
  • The ability to be resilient and maintain one’s own wellbeing whilst working in stressful situations, managing a high volume caseload and completing a training programme
  • Work within the culture of improving working lives and working time directive
  • Good time management skills
Desirable criteria
  • Ability to lead and motivate staff to embrace change
  • Broad knowledge of Trust policies and procedures in order to effectively lead and manage others
  • Experience of giving clinical Supervision

Effort and Environment

Essential criteria
  • Ability to commute between the various sites
  • Requirement for frequent concentration e.g. assessments, care plans. The work may be unpredictable
  • Ability to complete the academic components of the course.
  • Ability to attend the training days

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrable experience of working in mental health services, a minimum of 2 years’ experience
  • Experience liaising with other professionals
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the clinical area at specialist/advanced level of care
  • Evidence of development of specialist practice skills and able to demonstrate the impact of this on practice change/development
Desirable criteria
  • Development of advance/expert level of practice skills and able to demonstrate the impact of this on practice change/development
  • Experience of working in Primary Care Services
  • Experience of working in a service where agreed targets are in place & demonstrating clinical outcomes
  • Leadership/management experience which has had a positive impact and created change within the service delivery/practice
  • Teaching experience/qualification
  • Professional networking locally
  • Ability to effectively Chair meetings

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Candidates must have a degree (minimum of 2nd class honors) in an allied discipline or equivalent (usually Psychology), and additionally one of the following points in order to be considered.
  • Candidates from a core professional background must be accredited with their regulatory body /PWP qualification- both must have at least two years mental health experience post-qualification at the start date of the course.
