Our Senior Officer Intelligence Analyst Team Leaders are technical specialists responsible for leading regional teams of Intelligence Analysts. There are two posts available, in Stratford and Croydon. In this role, you will provide strategic direction and oversee team performance to ensure the delivery of impactful analytical products, high-quality customer service and adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs). You will also be responsible for motivating the team and managing individual performance, attendance, and conduct, while ensuring that your team of Intelligence Analysts are equipped with the tools and knowledge required to excel in their roles.
Using the Intelligence Analysis Training, you will be expected to influence and assure the production of a range of innovative and complex analytical products to support casework effectively.
As a member of the Leadership Team, you will also contribute to driving continuous improvement across FIA and lead projects aligned with FIA’s strategic business priorities. Please note that occasional travel and overnight stays will be required.
The role holder in Croydon will inherit an established, and busy team of intelligence analysts and will need to ensure the team maintains its high standards. You will play a key role in building and maintaining a new customer base, taking accountability for identifying suitable casework and coordinating workload allocation within the team.
Owing to high customer demand, FIA are building a second analyst team in Stratford. The role holder will be presented with a unique opportunity to shape and lead the development of the new team, and how it will work alongside the established Stratford team. Working closely with your counterpart, you will play a key role deconflicting and expanding the customer base to enable FIA to undertake additional work to meet customers’ needs.

In your role as Intelligence Analyst team leader, you will be responsible for:
– Managing and leading a team of Higher Officer Intelligence Analysts.
– Building and maintaining a customer base in the local area and source appropriate casework.
– Co-ordinate and prioritise case work against competing resource demands, both locally and nationally.
– Being accountable for the timely delivery of analytical products produced by your team to support Civil and Criminal investigations.
– Ensuring that appropriate analytical techniques are used in the production of your team’s analysis.
– Managing and assuring the quality outputs of your Intelligence Analysts.
– Working with assigned mentors to guide new analysts through their initial training (Practical Trial Period) and ensuring they meet the required standards to pass their probation and practical assessments.
– Encouraging and seeking development opportunities for you and your team members, acting as a tutor, coach or mentor when needed.
– Managing the performance, attendance, and conduct of your team members.
– Actively contributing to the range of activities within FIA’s Senior Leadership Team to drive continuous improvement.
You will be comfortable using a range of communication methods, engaging effectively with colleagues from across the team and wider business to deliver agreed objectives to help progress fraud investigations.
You’ll be fully committed to supporting change and development through a culture of continuous improvement, sharing good practice, and addressing gaps in personal and team capability as appropriate.

Due to the specialised and professional nature of these posts, completion of one of the core professional intelligence analyst training programmes as recognised by Professional Head of Intelligence Analysis (PHIA – Cabinet Office) or College of Policing from the following list is essential:
- NIAT – National Intelligence Analysis Training and/or Intelligence Professionalisation Programme (IPP) completion
- GIAT – Government Intelligence Analyst Training
- DIAM – Defence Intelligence Analyst Module
- Other recognised qualification (please specify)
