Clinical Support Worker Job with Visa Sponsorship (COS) at Manchester University NHS Trust – Our Clinical Support Workers for the Community Liver Health Checks programme support the roll out of an exciting new pilot project providing community screening of people in hard-to-reach groups for cirrhosis.
This project aims to identify people currently using local alcohol and drug services or other community services and engage them in screening for cirrhosis, offering interventions to help their liver health. This project will aim to provide patients with support to attend screening and provide direct to patient incentives to encourage attendance at screening.

- Assistant Practitioner Qualification, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
Experience

- Evidence of continued professional development
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of working in the community
- Previous experience of working with people with in areas of deprivation or those with alcohol or substance use problems
Knowledge and Skills
Essential criteria
- Ability to perform clinical tests (blood tests and fibroscans after appropriate training)
- Ability to work with a wide range of health and social care providers to develop a team approach to engaging difficult to reach clients
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients
- Ability to work under own initiative as well as part of a team
- Have access to a car for work, clean drivers license and be able to travel to outreach sites
